Judging:
I have been asked and volunteered to judge cosplay events. Being in a cosplay masquerade is fun, but judging it is another great experience. I love judging, and its even more fun when judges can talk to the cosplayers about their costumes. My favorite thing to judge is craftmanship. Many people misunderstand craftmanship judging. Many think that it's important to have the most detailed costume, or the one that stands out above the rest. Although these factors are pertinent, craftmanship also pertains to how the costume was made or what techniques were used to achieve the end results. I feel it is important for cosplayers to provide the judges with a reference picture of the character they're portraying, since the judges may not be familiar with the costumes' origins. By having a photo reference, the judges are able spot key elements and rate how accurate the costume is.

Here is a list of conventions where I was a judge, and also where I will be one.
More future events will be posted when they come up.
