| The Hobby: |
I started cosplaying back in 1998, but I didn't know what cosplay was until like 2001. Link was my first and it was a halloween costume.
I pretty much devoted my cosplay life to create every single Link costume, he is so fun to dress up as, and its great to be able to represent a character I enjoy.
Cosplay is about dressing up as your favorite character at conventions.
Its really a lot of fun, and I met a lot of great people through cosplay. I currently make costumes for my brother as well
(Master_Jedi) and he also attends most of the CA conventions. |

There are also some other characters I like dressing up as, but I wont make a costume unless I know the character, and like the character. Thats what makes it even more fun. I used to cosplay solo for a while, then I became friends with SanaChan and
Richii, we occasionally do skits and we like to have fun, so they are usually pretty funny or just weird.
We also created the musical cosplay group Tenimyusa, which was Sanachans idea, and I am apart of. |
|
My dad is the owner and main photographer for
Consplayers.com. And we usually travel to conventions in Canada, West and Central US, and we've also been invited to conventions in Mexico.
I also do photography for consplayers, but not very much since I love wearing my costumes, and its almost impossible to get a good number of pictures taken if you also wear a costume.
My dad and I do work a lot of prop work together, and we both have fun making them. Hes skilled in making objects durable and hes also very skilled in painting. we both construct props together, but Im the one who gets to do the details, sculpting, fine work and adding finishing touches. So much work goes into making props that I just dont feel like talking about how they were constructed. Its pretty much the same for the costumes, pretty much once your at the point of finally finishing something, you never really want to attempt it again, just enjoy it. hehe
I make all of my costumes though. I am a perfectionist, but I only cosplay as characters I like, and know. I spend a lot of time on my Link costumes especially, and the character deserves justice. I like to stick to accuracy as much as possible, and that takes a lot of time to research and prepare for the actual construction. |

-Modeling as Link and Zelda at E3 2006 -
(please email me so I can give you credit for this great photo)
|
In 2006, my friend (The Princess Zelda) and I were given permission to wear our costumes at E3. We wore Twilight Princess Link and Zelda, and volunteered to modeled at the Nintendo booth, advertising Twilight Princess. That was probably my best cosplaying experience.
I always dreamt of meeting Shigeru Miyamoto, and though it would never happen. My biggest dream was to meet him while I was in costume. HA! that was almost like wishing for the impossible. . |
|
We both met Miyamoto three times, once out of costume in the morning, the second time was in the back 'invite only' section while we were taking a break and he walked over to us after I gestured that I have something for him since I did make him
a gift the night before. and the third was before he was about to leave and catch his plane. At least we got to say goodbye and get some last pictures of him.
He was incredibly nice and took the time to chat with us, and we couldn't resist but asked him to sign our costumes. It was an incredibly huge honor to meet the Creator of my favorite game series of all time. And to actually spend some time with him was never expected. I was really happy to know that he liked the costumes, and he always smiled. Hes really very friendly, and we're both the same height. hehe cool. |

-Shigeru Miyamoto and Me at E3 2006- |
| I gave him a giftl, which made me happy that he accepted it. I had to retire my Twilight Princess Link tunic and hat because of the Signatures. I cant wash them anymore and they are nicely displayed in my room among the rest of my nintendo collections. I had to make a new tunic and hat. After that I have been able to model in costume more at shows to continue advertising Twilight Princess at Nintendo booths. |
|
Its really a lot of fun, and a great experience. We also met up with Charles Martinet who is the voice of Mario and other mario characters, and we met lots of great Nintendo Reps. E3 was a blast! :D
I have met a lot of people through cosplay and conventions, and there are still some cosplayers I look up to. But please if you ever see me at a con, come and say hi, I might seem quiet at first, but I'm pretty friendly and I'm willing to help out others, many people say Im a very' down to earth person' and I wouldnt mind chatting with others at conventions. hehe besides Cosplay is a fun hobby, just as any other type of art. People do it for the fun, the enjoyment and the experience they get out of it.
If anyone would like to chat feel free to send me an email ^_^ |

Behind the Costume : |
-Head Shot-

well there is really not much to say about me really. I was born in Europe, and lived there for a bit, and after we moved to canada and we lived there for I think 11 years, and I've been living in CA since 1994. I currently attend College, and I hope within the next year I will be transferring over to the Academy of Art, in San Francisco. I want to do 3D rendering/animation. Animation is something I've wanted to do since I was really young, but I'm even more interested in rendering.
I like meeting new people, and attending conventions really gave me the opportunity to make new friends as well. I'm pretty much just your everyday average person. |

I really love the legend of Zelda series, and Link has been my favorite character ever since. I love to play video games when I have the time.
I also love most things Nintendo, such as Mario, Metroid, Pikmin, Star Fox, etc.
I also play other series such as Final Fantasy, Rockman X, and Metal Gear.
I love to draw and have been drawing for most of my life. I have a Deviant Art account as well and I am slowly going to start putting artwork up there, now that I have a tablet my friend got me for my
bday!
I also enjoy doing webdesign, and have already designed a few.
I'm not much of a internet chat person, I may go on Aim some times, but I barely go anyplace else. MSN doesn't work for me anymore, it stopped working a while back.
I don't have a myspace account, I never really felt the need to have one, but maybe someday I will just to stay in contact with friends, make new ones, and what. But maybe we will see. ^_^
Anyway I don't know what else to add, but anyone can always email me at pikminlink (a) hotmail.com |
